We live in a world where instant replies are the norm—but taking a breath before responding to emails or messages is often the smarter choice.

Here's why:

Next time your phone buzzes, try waiting a little before answering. Thoughtful communication beats fast communication every time. ✨
This is a particularly important lesson for me. As an adult with Autism and ADHD I naturally want to respond immediately and before I forget my epiphany, run out of executive function or become distracted.
I maintain a notebook where I record my immediate reaction and only after some consideration compose a helpful and coherent response for the recipient.
This approach emphasises the importance of considering the needs of others and is good practice for everyone in day to day life.
